Product Description
The GGBS offered by Hymax is considered the greenest building material as it is derived from waste, eliminating the need for quarrying virgin materials, and consumes significantly less energy than conventional cement. In construction applications, it provides excellent strength compared to Portland cement. Although it sets more slowly than Portland cement, it shows superior resistance to sulfate attacks and chloride attacks, thereby increasing the lifespan of buildings and preventing early-age thermal cracking. Countries around the world have increasingly chosen GGBS as a promising alternative to traditional cement.
GGBS from Hymax is sourced as a byproduct of iron and steel production. It consists of components such as calcium oxides, silicon oxides, aluminum oxides, and magnesium oxides. It contains only 1% crystalline silica and less than 2 ppm of water-soluble chromium IV.
- GGBS setting time depends on the water-cement ratio, taking 30 minutes.
- GGBS hardens slowly and is recommended to be mixed with Portland cement
- A 50:50 ratio is advised, but up to 80% can yield improved results.
- Achieve consistent results with less water when mixing GGBS with Portland cement.
